G Day for Girls

A day of magic for Girls & their Champions!
A day of empowering girls as they enter adolescence.

A handful of girls at Livingstone have attended this event and have had amazing experiences. My own daughter, Shayel, who is now at Tupper attended the very first G Day and I was there as a volunteer. It's absolutely time well spent. - Makeesha, PAC communications

Kicking off the 2015-16 Recycling program

Don't put that pop can or wine bottle in the blue bin!

Bring your refundable recyclables to the school! Our PAC recycling program has historically been a large source of funds for all the great work the PAC does for our families. It also fosters a great sense of awareness within the school community about our earth's limited resources. In order to continue with past success, we need you!

1. RECYCLE: please bring in all your refundable recyclable items and put them in the bins in the room by the gym on the north side of the school. Alcohol containers are ok!

Items we can accept:
  • plastic drink bottles
  • tetra pacs for juice
  • cradle top juice containers
  • pop cans
  • beer cans
  • water bottles
  • glass beverage containers (beer, hard liquor, wine and juice)
  • wine tetra pacs and bags in the boxes

2. VOLUNTEER: This program relies heavily on volunteer labour to be successful. The more people we have helping, the faster it goes. In addition to help sorting, we are also looking for someone with a truck or other larger vehicle to drive around to area businesses to pick up their refundable items.

More information about this program can be found here. If you can volunteer, please email the PAC.

PAC popcorn fundraiser

Popcorn Time!

David Livingstone PAC is selling popcorn cards again this year. The cost will be $15 per card. Each card will give your child 11 bags of popcorn throughout the year. The cards will be stored at the school and handed out to your child on popcorn days which happen roughly once a month. Bags can be purchased on the popcorn day and each bag will cost $2.

Siblings CAN share a card if you wish.

The first Popcorn sale will be Friday, October 16. The deadline to return your order will be Tuesday, September 29.

For those who have participated in the past, you will notice an increase in cost. This is to offset our expenses so our PAC can continue to provide this fun experience for the kids and also make sure it continues to be a viable fundraiser. This fundraiser brings in money to support PAC efforts such as (amongst other things) assembly speakers, and providing bursaries for field trips for our students in need.

As always, we rely on our volunteers. Many hands make light work. Please email us if you can help with any part of the popcorn day process. We especially would like to have more help on the mornings we pop the popcorn.

Thanks to Sophie Yendole for heading up this program.
